Default location
By default, MapSpoto only uses an approximate location based on your IP address for basic features such as nearby activities.
Precise location
MapSpoto requests precise location only when it is actually needed, and only with your permission.
This app does not continuously track your live location in the background, and it does not expose your precise location to other users.
Activity location display
Activity pages show only a rough location or area, not the exact meetup point.
The exact meeting spot should be shared by the organizer separately in the activity group chat.
User controls
Users can report, block, mute, leave groups, and delete their own account.
Chat and access control
Chat data is protected by PostgreSQL Row Level Security (RLS).
Regular clients can only access chat content they are permitted to see. They cannot access other users' private or group chats through normal app interfaces.
Sensitive information reminder
Information you add to your profile, such as your name, region, or contact details, may be visible to other users.
If it is not necessary, please do not enter your home address, direct contact details, or other sensitive information.
How AI is used
AI is used only to assist development and improve product features.
AI does not connect to the backend database to read or analyze private chats, precise location data, or similar sensitive information.
Technical security
MapSpoto uses Expo / React Native on the client side and Supabase for authentication, database, storage, and realtime features. Data access relies on PostgreSQL permissions and RLS policies, and storage rules are reviewed and tightened regularly.
If you want a more technical explanation, including RLS, key usage rules, and security checks, see the appendix below.
